Bad storms just rolled through the area, dropping tornados. Showed rotation not too far from my house. They were naming highways that aren’t but two minutes away. But, as it always seems to happen, it didn’t even so much as hail here. Which I am more than happy about because the M3 hasn’t so much as one hail ding and I’d like to keep it that way.

I think we got nearly two inches of rain in 20 minutes. Streets around here are flooded. There was a small stream running to the sewer in our back yard.

Anyone on the other side of the Mississippi from STL, stay safe.

I’m here at work in STL. Heard the sirens and got the alerts on my phone. Spent half an hour camped out in the parking structure waiting for it to go past. Should have taken the notebook with me and continued working. I guess I’ll be here a little later than planned. I don’t need sleep, right?

I live barely ( I can throw a rock in to the river from my balcony) 550 miles north of STL and it has been surprisingly calm this year. So far at least . . .

I just drove around & through som of those storms. Working north, just south of Davenport, IA and the rain started in O’Fallon as I left and I stayed put ahead of it as I got on 370-270, exit at Lilac for gas, then back on highway east 270-55N as it was heading east. I must the hard stuff UNTILL about a half hour away from Pioria, IL and some stupid woman didn’t have he lights on, she had just passed me and then the rain got heavy and a cc-7 basically disappeared until I turned on my high beams and abou 20 yards away.

I was so pissed, they were scared I guess and slowed down so I Jeepr at about speed limit or 5 over (75) and passed everything in sight, stupid people were driving with their hazards on, which makes it harder for me to see.

People are stupid in the rain.
